Brian Hood, MBA, PMP
Brian Hood, MBA, PMP, has more than 20 years of experience managing project and construction schedules in various industries including airport terminal construction, school construction, oil and gas, power generation, transportation, travel, wireless telecommunications, and petrochemical. Brian is currently a Sr. Project controls and Risk Management consultant for Planning and Management Services Inc. Brian received his PMP certification in 2001 from the Project Management Institute and received his MBA in 2006 from the University of Phoenix. Brian’s extensive depth of knowledge ranges from project planning and scheduling, to implementation of project management solutions. Brian has developed and delivered training curriculums in multiple industries on various software solutions but specifically developed best of class training for the Primavera suite of tools. Brian also is a US Navy veteran who completed the Naval Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida and served aboard 2 Ships; USS Arkansas and the USS Enterprise.
Kamran Hazini, PhD, P. Eng, PMP, PSP, CCP
Kamran Hazini has more than nineteen years of professional experience in planning and project controls on oil, gas, petrochemical, power generation & transmission, and transportation industry projects in both public and private sectors. Kamran holds a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary and an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He is also a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) and Planning/Scheduling Professional (PSP). Kamran’s main areas of expertise are project planning, scheduling, cost engineering, change management, quantitative risk analysis, earned value management, and profitability analysis. He has several publications in scientific journals and presentations in various professional conferences. He is currently a Project Controls Manager at Sound Transit.
Brian Smith, CCP, PMP
Brian has been a member of AACE International since the 1990s and earned his CCC (now CCP) in 2001. He has been a participant and presenter at a variety of AACE events including regional chapter meetings (Seattle and Cascade), the Western Winter Workshop and at National (San Antonio). Currently a Project Controls Manager with Mott MacDonald North America, Brian has taken advantage of AACE’s sanctioned events and training to encourage the development of Project Controls skills for his staff and colleagues. Brian has over 30 years of experience in Project Controls in a variety of industries including Mining, Aerospace Manufacturing, Wastewater, Power Cogeneration, Light Rail, Highways and Tunnels. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Washington State University and a Geographic Information Systems Certificate from the University of Washington.
Victoria Flores, CCE
For over 35 years, Victoria has had extensive hands-on involvement in heavy industrial and commercial construction projects worldwide, in various aspects of program and project construction management in the design and construction of nuclear, LNG and fossil fuel plants, transportation projects, large airport programs, civil, mechanical, electrical, infrastructure and educational facility mega-projects. Her duties as field engineer, estimator, scheduler, cost and budget control engineer, project controls and construction management subject-matter-expert, contracts administrator and construction project manager have prepared her for any variety of roles in small, medium large and multi-project programs as a Project Controls Manager or a Senior Project Controls Specialist.
Wit Ekman, PMP, CCP
Wit has over 18 years of experience in Project Controls and Project Management on a variety of capital projects, in both the public and private sectors. He has a strong background in all aspects of project controls, notably in budgeting and cost management. Wit currently works as a Project Controls Manager at Sound Transit; overseeing a portfolio of multiple light rail extension projects and contracts. He has been a member of AACEI, earned and has maintained his CCP certification since 2002. Wit holds a B.S. in Construction Engineering from Oregon State University, and a M.S. in Construction Management from the University of Washington. He is also PMP certified through the Project Management Institute (PMI). Wit served as AACE Seattle Section’s Treasurer from 2015-2016 and as Director of Membership from 2016-2017.
A Sr. Transportation Scheduler with 14 years of CPM Scheduling experience and well versed in Project Cost and Schedule Controls, Resource Management, Earned Value Management and Project Planning on projects like Airport Facilities, Transportation, Wastewater, Hydropower Generation, Manufacturing Facilities and Structural Upgrades. Has a great knowledge on Primavera Enterprise software (All P6 versions). Has experience with Earned Value Management using Primavera and Spreadsheets creating project performance reports on cost and schedule. Team Member on Project Management Process Control teams by creating Baseline, Change Management and Work Breakdown Processes and Procedures. Evaluates RFP and BAFO Contractor Submittals (as owner representative) on Contractual and Baseline Schedules. Assists a group of planners to create an Integrated Master Schedule procedure. Creates and defines Planning and Scheduling Management Plans. Practices Project Controls Methodologies from AACEI (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International) and PMI (Project Management Institute). Multiple assignments has made Norman versatile in Monitoring and Controlling Programs and Projects on any Industry. Norman is currently the company’ representative for COMTO (Conference Of Minority Transportation Officials) Washington Chapter.
Diana Erickson, CCP, PMP
Diana has 15+ years of experience in project controls and is currently the Deputy Director of Project Control overseeing and leading project controls teams that provide support for major capital projects at Sound Transit. Diana has earned her CCP credentials and has been a member of AACEI since 2006. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Central Washington University. Diana is also an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has earned her PMP credentials.
Charles F. Lappenbusch, Jr., MBA, CCP, EVP, PSP
Chuck has over 30 years of project management and financial experience related to infrastructure projects, including as Director of Development for a new town of 17,000 residences to include all the public and private infrastructures. His emphasis is cost control processes, monitoring and integration with Critical Path Scheduling, Earned Value Method, Risk Analysis and writing reports focused to the desired particular levels of management. He aligns and allocates budgets to applicable WBS levels that support s roll up and drill down analysis.
Jonathan R. Kennedy, PSP
Jon has 18 years of experience in the construction industry consisting of Field Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Construction Management, and Project Management and is currently a Project Controls Manager for Matrix Service Inc. Jon joined AACE International in 2007. Additionally, Jon received his Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification in 2007. He holds a B.S. degree from Georgia’s Institute of Technology in Civil Engineering. Shortly after Jon became a PSP, he became a grader for the memo section of the PSP exam and continues to be a grader to this day. Jon’s professional experience includes Construction Manager of a $200 Million resort on Maui. He was Project Controls Manager for an Industrial Service Contractor at a large refinery in the Pacific Northwest which at any given time would have between 12 and 30 capital construction projects, maintenance projects, or turn-around projects in progress ranging in size from $10,000 to $1,000,000. He was the Lead Scheduler/Project Controls for the Panama Canal’s 3rd Set of Locks. He has been an EPC Project Manager on various Oil and Gas Terminal and Industrial projects ranging in size up to $100 Million. Jon is currently Project Controls Manager for the Northwest Division of the National Construction Group for Matrix Service Inc.
